Housekeeper

Position Summary:

Housekeepers are responsible for the cleaning of all guest rooms and public spaces. They identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues. The Housekeeping Team works closely with General Manager, together they will identify weekly tasks. Housekeepers are expected to track stocked items  and cleaning chemicals and notify General Manager for reorder.

 

Expectations

Education: High School Graduate

Experience: Minimum 1 year work experience, time in Housekeeping position preferred.

 

Staff at the Hartness House are expected to to communicate with each other and guests with clear and professional language. They support teammates to reach common goals and maintain a positive relationship with the entire staff.  They must also be able to move and/or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

 

We are looking for a person who is dedicated to their craft of caring for a large commercial building. This person will need to have a positive attitude and be able to remain calm in unexpected and busy situations. We are looking for someone who wants to be a part of a team and has an interest in restoring the Hartness House to reach its full potential. Most importantly we are looking for someone who is trustworthy, able to work independently, and will take great pride in the work they do for the guests and the building.

 

This is a part-time position. Weekends and some holidays are required.

 

We are a small business and we are looking for applicants who are willing to cross train between departments. 

Server/Bartender

Position Summary:

Servers are responsible for serving our guests in the Tavern, at on-site events, and occasional breakfast shifts. They work closely with the Chef and the Tavern Manager to learn about the food and drinks they are serving and give every guest a positive experience. There will be an opportunity for selected servers to work in Weston for 9 weeks during the summer, 5 days a week,  while we run the restaurant at the Weston Playhouse.

 

Expectations

Education: High School Graduate.  Vermont Server Certificate to serve alcohol required.

Experience: Minimum 1 year work experience, time in food service position preferred.

The right applicant will have a passion for locally grown and produced food and knowledge of wine and bar service.  Most importantly we are looking for someone who is trustworthy, able to work independently, and will take great pride in the work they do for the guests and the reputation of the Tavern.

Front Desk Associate

Position Summary:

Front Desk Associates are responsible for booking reservations, assisting with guests needs, and participating in the marketing of the Hartness House. Front Desk Associates work closely with the General Manager to complete daily tasks in running the Hartness House. Front Desk Associates give tours of the mansion and underground tunnels to visitors and must be motivated to speak knowledgeably about the historic property. The Front Desk is the heart of the Inn and must be able to jump into any position to help co-workers complete their tasks and meet guest expectations. This includes, but is not limited to,  running food and helping set up and clean up for events, doing room check with housekeepers, and keeping common areas clean.

Experience: Minimum 3 year work experience, time in a hospitality position preferred.

They support teammates to reach common goals and maintain a positive relationship with the entire staff.  They must also be able to move and/or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

 

We are looking for a person who is dedicated to their craft of serving guests with a high level of hospitality. This person will need to have a positive attitude and be able to remain calm in unexpected and busy situations. The right applicant will have a passion for historical properties and customer service. Most importantly we are looking for someone who is trustworthy, able to work independently, and will take great pride in the work they do for the guests and the reputation of the Hartness House.
