As a music venue, The Moonlight Cafe offers performers a variety of ways to present themselves. Traveling players, and those with one or two complete sets of material, might be featured as headliners for a house concert. Performances are typically set to begin at 8 pm, and finish by 11. Open Mic acts might do just a few songs appearing at 7 pm in the evening. We look for ways to provide musicians of all levels a chance to make their music heard.

Here's a brief description of the equipment at the club:

The cafe offers the following equipment and instruments for musicians performing. Please confirm any special needs that you may have prior to the perform.

• PA System - JBL EON 15 G2 (2) 400 Watt Speakers.
• Behringer Xenyx 1202FX and Xenyx 1204FX 2 bus mixers with mic preamps, equalizers and 24-bitmulti-FX processor.
• Microphones - Shure Beta 58A and PG 58 mics.
• Behringer 2-channel DI-box/splitter.
• Yamaha Clavinova CVP401 Electronic Piano.
• Miller Baby Grand piano

How to book with the Club

We need to be exposed to a recent and faithful representation of your material--- CD, DVD, photos, an online press kit---- to evaluate our ability to properly present the performer. If you have a website, that will probably be the best option for our initial needs. An email in advance of a mailing will be helpful, and we pledge to at least acknowledge the receipt of promotional items. Phone contact with The Moonlight would best be attempted between 3 and 6pm, EDT, to discuss details regarding bookings.

Financial considerations

With feature performers, we negotiate a minimum guarantee. In addition, we offer a healthy percentage of the door, based on table minimums or ticket sales. Show open mic slots are mainly for those who are interested in playing for exposure, and a chance to sell some CDs.... we typically have no budget for opening acts, but we'll try to get you in front of as many listeners as we can. In any case, generous refreshments for the artist are on the house... within reasonable limits, of course. We'll try to provide someone to help with CD sales, of which the artist keeps 100%. Performers may choose to leave us a dozen or so extra discs, which we will stock and sell on commission.

Overnight Accommodations

The Club is located at the Hartness House Inn in Springfield, Vermont, and we offer overnight accommodations (credit card security deposit required, sorry, double occupancy) at no charge in the hotel with breakfast the next day. We don't want an artist to leave town without making plans to come back soon. Please let us know how we can make your performance--- indeed, the entire experience--- one to remember fondly.
