Lena Pond Hartness was the loving and respected
wife of James Hartness. A loving mother, she enjoyed
gardening. Her gardens were well-known and visited
by many. James Hartness built a fieldstone Tea House
and the famous Hartness pergola with reflecting
ponds to grace Lena's gardens.
