We open the holiday season with a traditional Thanksgiving feast surrounded by our gala holiday decorated inn. During the Christmas season, the inn is decorated with over 23 Christmas trees, thousands of yards of garlands and festive lighting, and traditional holiday decorations throughout. For New Years, we offer a New Years celebration feast with festive New Year's Eve decorations, a live dancing and swing music orchestra and dancing.
Celebrate Valentine's Day this year with our romantic Valentine's Day Weekend Getaway Packages and our gala Valentine's Dinner Dance Party. The Moonlight Cafe at the Hartness House offers dinner-theater performances by the Dinner Theater Playhouse of Vermont and regular live musical entertainment. The cafe features soft acoustic, instrumental, folk, jazz, blues, and eclectic musical performers from New England and the US. Dinner is served from 5pm to 8pm and a full bar is open from 5pm to closing.

The Spa offers a variety of services including: an oversized therapeutic hydrotherapy whirlpool ; a Finnish style cedar-lined dry sauna, a Turkish steam sauna, a deep treatment infra-red oak-lined sauna, a hygienic standing sun tanning cubicle, heated massage table, Shiatsu massage chair, private his and her dressing rooms/bath rooms with full body spa showers, and facial center.
For your relaxation the spa offers a full entertainment center with large screen plasma TV and home theater system. The spa includes a wine bar and mini bar, and offer a menu of light appetizers that can be ordered in advance.
The spa offers several spa treatments that are included with each session. These spa included spa sessions are: aromatherapy steam facials, essential oil facial wraps, seawater or mineral water bath, Hot Stone treatments, aromatherapy tranquility baths, and relaxation meditation treatments. Couples massage treatments are available. Bathrooms, towels, sun tanning goggles, and slippers are provided.
Additional spa services are available by advance reservation. These Spa services includes: professional deep tissue therapeutic massage, Swedish massage, Shiatsu massage, reflexology, and Reiki. Private hair dressing and manicure services are also available.

James Hartness-Russell Porter Astronomy Museum and the James Hartness Telescope and Observatory Celebrating its 100th Year Anniversary 1910 - 2010
The Hartness House Estate is home to the Hartness-Porter Astronomy Museum and one of the nation's most sophisticated privately-owned telescope observatory. The museum is situated in an underground complex reachable only through a secret tunnel.
The James Hartness Telescope and Observatory is celebrating its 100th Year Anniversary from 1910 to 2010. Still very much operational, this Equatorial Tracking Telescope is a technical marvel of its time.

Stellafane's Virtual Museum of the James Hartness-Russell Porter Astronomy Museum collection at the Hartness House can be viewed here. The museum features many historic astronomy exhibits and works of arts and guided tours are limited and available by reservation only. The Hartness House features an unique underground museum and an antique 1910 Equatorial Tracking Refractor telescope with Brashear lens housed in an unique observatory. The museum collection offers interesting exhibits including Hale Observatory in Mount Palomar drawings, Porter Garden Telescope, Cassegrain and Coude telescopes and photographs, Hartness sundial, 1917 Fullam 10" reflector telescope, lens grinding exhibits and photographs of the early Hartness House.
The Hartness Astronomical Observatory features a 10" Brashear refractor telescope with an equatorial tracking system that was invented and placed into operation in 1910 and patented in 1912. The Hartness Observatory is reached from the inn by way of a secret 240 foot underground tunnel. Also, located nearby, the Miller Art Center and Museum also provides a historical look at the history of James Hartness and the Hartness House.
